Check List for Performance Tasks
¨ Participant loads camera software onto computer.
¨ Participant takes several photographs in automatic mode.
¨ Participant looks at the photographs in the camera’s LCD panel.
¨ Participant deletes the photographs from the camera
¨ Participant checks and records camera’s quality modes, focus methods, zoom capabilities, flash settings, macro settings, panorama settings.
Portfolio or Demonstration
1. Participant compares composition techniques by:
- taking a head-and-shoulder shot close up
- taking a 'person' shot mid way
- taking a 'person' shot far away
- loading the photographs onto the computer and into the camera software
- reviewing the photographs on the computer monitor
- discussing (in print or verbally) the difference in composition among the photographs and which photographs are "best"
2. Participant explores camera’s different effects by:
- taking photographs using the camera’s different effects
- loading the photographs onto the computer and into the camera software
- reviewing the photographs on the computer monitor
- discussing (in print or verbally) the effects the participant particularly likes
3. Participant uses the camera’s macro settings by:
- taking three macro photographs
- loading the photographs onto the computer and into the camera software
- reviewing the photographs on the computer monitor
- discussing (in print or verbally) the effects the participant particularly likes
4. Participant uses a panoramic mode by:
- taking three photos that overlap
- loading the photographs onto the computer and into the camera software
- attempting to “stitch” the photographs into a panoramic photograph
- discussing (in print or verbally) if stitching is possible with participant’s camera and software
5. Participant inserts a photograph into a word processing document, saving the result for instructor review.
6. Participant attaches a photograph to an email, saving the result for instructor review.
7. Participant joins in a brainstorm session on integrating digital photography with curriculum content.
8. Participant "looks at" additional resources on using digital photography with curriculum.
