Rationale

Home

In this age of technology, we have developed a reliance on the computer’s ability to detect errors.  Students are unable to distinguish similar sounding words.  When various electronic writing “tools” are activated, the suggested choices for correcting potential errors are confusing and inaccurate in context.

Computer dependency

Additionally, the students’ dictionary skills are often too weak or insufficient to access or approximate the needed words.

Skill deficiency

Consequently, writing has become a drudge, best avoided or accepted with no attention to details (i.e., spelling accuracy).

Writing decline
