Comprehensive Memberships
PBS 45 & 49’s Technology Resource Center

For $600 per school/district plus a 25¢ per-pupil fee, PBS 45 & 49 will provide the following services. You’ll get all the services provided under Basic and Free services, plus:

Professional Development With Graduate Credit

You tell us what you require and we’ll develop and teach classes that fit your needs. We will work with Kent State University, The University of Akron or Youngstown State University to offer graduate credit to the participants. The district pays our normal on-site workshop fee ($150 per day), and the teachers pay a reduced rate for graduate credit.

Free On-Site Workshops

Two full-day workshops presented by PBS 45 & 49 staff using your school/district computer equipment. Additional workshops are $150 each.

Free Workshop Registrations

Four registrations to full-day technology workshops at PBS 45 & 49. Additional workshop registrations are just $50 per person — 50% off the regular price.

A Free Two-Day Technology Planning Workshop

Ten hours of technology planning facilitation arranged at the school/district’s convenience (e.g., two five-hour days, or five two-hour sessions) — a savings of $500.

Free Videotape Library (VTL) Services

Refer to pages 14 and 15 in your ITV handbook for membership level prices. OR call Laura at (330) 677-4549.

Free Meeting Room Use at PBS 45 & 49

The meeting rooms at PBS 45 & 49 will be available during normal working hours on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge for Comprehensive Member schools/districts (unless in use by PBS 45 & 49). Use of our computer lab and other equipment is available for an extra charge.

Plus:

• Free attendance at our Technology Resource
Center meetings, held at PBS 45 & 49.

• Free technology consultations.

Basic Membership

For $400 per school/district, PBS 45 & 49 will provide the following services. You’ll get all the services provided under Free services (see next page), plus:

On-Site Workshop

One full-day workshop presented by PBS 45 & 49 staff using your school/district computer equipment for the cost of $150.

Workshops at PBS 45 & 49

Registration to full-day technology workshops at PBS 45 & 49 for $50 per person — 50% off the regular price.

A Two-Day Technology Planning Workshop

Ten hours of technology planning facilitation arranged at the school/district’s convenience (e.g., two five-hour days, or five two-hour sessions) for $250 — 50% off the regular price.

Meeting Room Use at PBS 45 & 49

The meeting rooms at PBS 45 & 49 will be available during normal working hours on a first-come, first-served basis at a cost of $25 per day (unless in use by PBS 45 & 49). Use of our computer lab and other equipment is available for an extra charge.

Reduced Videotape Library (VTL) Rates

Free services for all schools/districts in PBS 45 & 49’s service area:

FREE SERVICES

PBS 45 & 49 provide the following free services to your school/district:

• Instructional Television (ITV) Broadcasting: Approximately 700 hours of ITV broadcasts (for grades K-12)
on PBS 45 & 49 during a 30-week period, September through May.

• One ITV Handbook for each participating teacher in the district.

• Teacher guides (lesson plans) for each ITV series, available to participating teachers. A nominal fee is charged
for each guide.

• ITV programming orientation for teachers, administrators and other school/district personnel.

• Our free monthly publication, TechKnowledgy newsletter, for each teacher and administrator.

• Two free memberships to PBS 45 & 49. With these one-year memberships (which normally cost a minimum of
$35 per year) all superintendents and ITV liaisons in member schools/districts receive our monthly program guide, The Alternative.

• ITV program selection at our annual curriculum screening by school/district curriculum coordinators.

The PBS 45 & 49 Educational Content Development Fund

PBS 45 & 49 are committed to serving educators. To that end we are adding a new service for schools.

The station is setting up a special fund to design and produce educational content that takes advantage of the new technologies available in your district.

When your district joins the Technology Resource Center (TRC), your membership fee will be placed in an account along with the fees from other member districts. These funds will only be used to develop high-quality educational multimedia products such as TV programs, CD-ROMs and Web sites.
