- Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Two types of grants--Priorities are improving math, science or technology, improving language literacy, improving learning in the arts, professional development, administrative leadership skills, providing services to students. Board meets monthly except July.

- GAR Foundation--Educator Initiative Grant Offers funding to teams of K-12 educators who are working together to develop, implement, and assess instructional strategies for helping their students meet Ohio's academic standards; and helping their schools achieve goals identified in their school improvement plans. Educator Initiative Grants of no less than $1,000 and no more than $5,000 are available for projects designed to increase achievement in one or more classrooms. Grants of up to $15,000 are available for projects designed to have school-wide impact. Narrative must be less than 2,000 words. Deadline is May. http://www.garfdn.org/4-educator.htm
- Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton has chosen to focus its resources on programs which are designed to make a measurable impact in one or more of the following areas: responding to the needs of the poor and underserved; enhancing organizational capacity; responding to innovative approaches for services in support of children and their families; and focusing on health care access issues. Must submit a Concept Paper to determine if you should apply for the grant. Concept paper due by January 1 or July 1. Applications due by February 1 or August 1. - Stark Community Foundation Awards charitable grants to help launch new programs, initiatives, or capital needs not addressed by existing organizations. Impact Areas include Afterschool, Affordable Housing and Economic Development, and Neighborhood Capacity Building. They are looking for sustainability, entreprenurial ideas, best practices, team building, capacity building and partnerships with a common cause. Amount is not listed on the Web site. Board Directed Grants (impact areas) deadline is January. Discretionary Grants deadlines are March 1 and August 1 http://www.starkcommunityfoundation.org/
- Best Buy Grants The Best Buy's Children's Foundation is committed to supporting programs that connect kids, technology and education.
