The next day (10-15) was pretty much just a travel day – from Glendale to Ruby’s Inn at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. However a "travel day" in Southern Utah just means that I get to see more beautiful scenery. This half of Utah has probably the greatest concentration of beautiful and varied scenery of any similar size place in the world. There are five National Parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Canyonlands and Arches), five National Monuments, one National Recreation area, several State Parks and a host of scenic byways.

My decision to stay at Ruby’s Inn was an easy one. For $15, I get stores, restaurants, showers and a hot tub (where I stayed until they closed it at 10:00). I’m not sure what the campground cost is at the National Park, but they are usually in the $12 range and don’t have showers. I did notice that there are showers available near, but not in, one of the campgrounds. Anyway, I’m happy with my choice and I’m going to stay here two nights.

The weather today was pretty nice for riding – a little cooler than it has been and a little windy, but otherwise sunny and pleasant. That will change, however, as the forecast for tonight is low in the lower 20’s and for tomorrow high in the mid-40’s. It

is supposed to stay sunny, but blustery. After tomorrow it’s supposed to get warmer, and the weatherman says no storms in sight for at least the next ten days. I am at 8000’ elevation here, so I did expect it to be cooler than Zion (4000’), but not this much cooler.
