May 16 and 17, 2000

Despite the closeness to home, I’m still going to take three days to get there.  I’ll have one fairly long day today (5-16), then a short one to Streetsboro (where I’ll spend the night with my daughter), then another short one to Barberton.

Near Mercer, Pennsylvania, the land started to look a lot like home – rolling hills instead of small mountains and lots of farm fields with trees surrounding them.  Each time I climb a hill, I say to myself that this might very well be the biggest one before I get home.

In Mercer, some nitwit tried to run me off the road with his car.  I didn’t get the license number, but managed to get a photo of the driver. If this face looks familiar to anyone out there in Webland, please notify the Mercer Police Department.

I rode about 68 miles on the day and stopped for the night near Warren, Ohio.  I figure I’m about 35 miles from Streetsboro.
