March 24, 2000

Sheryl fixed a great breakfast casserole for us the next morning (3-24), then we got an early start toward Franklin, Kentucky.

A lot of country music stars live in the Nashville area and we passed the home of Reba McIntyre on the way out of town.  The horse barn was so large and elaborate that we thought it was the house at first. The very large house sat further back against the Cumberland River and wasn’t quite so easy to photograph.

The wind was strong and at our backs this morning and we reached Franklin a few minutes after 11:00 (Central Time).  It was too soon to quit for the day, so we rode another 25 miles to Bowling Green.  The last section of highway that we rode on today is named the “Duncan Hines Highway”.  After the mountains, it was a piece of cake.
