Following another breakfast and ice water fill-up at Wall Drug Store, I
headed back west toward the Black Hills. I knew it was going to be a boring day because I
was on the same stretch of Interstate highway (going the other direction) that I had just
traveled two days before. So I kept track of things people had apparently lost from their
cars, trucks and campers not the litter they threw away mind you, but the good
stuff that was accidentally lost. |
| My list for the day: plastic container lid (large one), clean
pillow, small screwdriver, good rubber stretch cord (both ends in place), truck mud flap
(said "Freightliner"), one thong type shoe, refrigerator (freezer) door, big old
tailpipe (5" or so diameter must have come from one of those megalith
motorhomes), dark blue sweatshirt (maybe XL). By the time I got to Rapid City, the wind
had picked up and the sky was getting dark, so I decided to park for the day. As I
registered at the Berry Patch Campground, I found out that the Rapid City area was under a
tornado watch until 8:00pm. So there I sat in the game room at the campground getting
totally caught up on my journal and taking one of those rest days that Ive talked
about. Good for me. |
