The next day
(7-11), I rode from Maybell to the town of Dinosaur, Colorado. The town used to be called
Artesia, but was changed in the mid-60s to cash in on the proximity to the National
Monument. Ill bet there were some lively town council meetings over that decision.
The ride was pleasant
enjoyable scenery, and a little more uphill/downhill than the previous day. I stayed at
the Blue Mountain RV Park for two days while I checked out the Monument without carrying
around all of my gear. The RV Park has a nice manager (Jeanie) who let me use her phone
line late in the evening to send all of my photos and other information home to Becky.
With that accomplished, I dont hate Steamboat Springs any longer.
