This part of the journey began very well on February 4 when I rode about 70 miles from Hot Springs to Pine Bluff and my son Aaron drove about 45 miles from Little Rock to Pine Bluff.  We met at the Days Inn and spent the night together catching up on tales of his service work for Tech Pro and of my journey.  He brought me a box of chocolate covered cherries – what a nice son!  We also had dinner at Moretti’s Italian Bistro and I will highly recommend the place to anyone who gets near Pine Bluff.

The first 20 miles (from Hot Springs to Malvern) were pretty hilly, but once I crossed I-30 the terrain began to somewhat.  I suspect these are the last hills of any significance I will see now until I get near Greenville, South Carolina in mid-March.
