We rode to Anacortes the next day
(8-12) completing Davids trip across countryAnacortes is one of the terminal points
of the Northern Tier bicycle route published by Adventure Cycling. We waded in Puget
Sound, part of the Pacific Ocean, to signify completion of the journey. We then rode to
Deception Pass and crossed the high bridge onto Whidbey Island. The Deception Pass area is
very pretty, a narrow passage between two islands that initially caused its discoverer in
1792, Captain George Vancouver, to be deceived into thinking he had found an inlet to the
mainland. We found a campground and a nice restaurant where David bought my dinner. Thank
you very much, David. Ill get even later! |
