You are the famous Space Explorers!
·
The evil Solar System Bandits have erased most of the facts about
the Nine Planets from the Earth Base 3 database.
The only planet that did not have information erased was Earth because
the Space Explorers Team made sure that the Base Scanners were protected.
The Interplanetary President has called on the Space Explorers Team for a
very important mission.
·
It will be your mission to find information about the remaining
Nine Planets and be prepared to share the information you find with the rest of
the Space Explorer Team.
1. You will search the Internet to complete a variety of tasks.
2. You will choose one of the eight remaining planets whose information has been erased by the Space Bandits.
3. You will need to find the following information about your planet:
· What is the distance from the sun?
· Decide if your planet is an inner planet or outer planet. Also, explain the characteristics of an inner planet or outer planet.
· Find the composition of your planet.
· Find the size of your planet.
· Site two other facts about your planet not covered above.
4. You will design a model of your planet to share with the rest of the Space Explorers.
5. You will take part in a presentation for the class about your planet.
6. You will use the following web sites to search for the information about your planet.

· You will be evaluated for the following items:
o Do you have the four required questions answered?
o Have you sited two other facts about the planet?
o Do you have your model of the planet completed?
o Is your class presentation complete?
· I hope when you finish this project, you will have learned some new and interesting facts about the planets in our solar system, gained some Internet searching skills, and discovered that the Internet is a powerful researching tool.
· You need to list the Web site(s) you used to find the information about your planet.
· Make sure you list any outside resources that you used to complete your assignment.
