Liberty Bell                   The Liberty Bell, a famous American symbol can be found in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.               In the 1700’s, bells were an important means of communications.  Bells rang to call meetings, announce news, and signal danger.  Bells were also rung to celebrate special events.

              The Liberty Bell is famous because it was rung in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed.  Over 50 years later it was cracked ringing for a funeral.
