Hoover Dam

          Hoover Dam was built on the

 Colorado River between Nevada

 and Arizona.  It was built to control

 the flooding and drought conditions

 of the southwest.

     Hoover Dam was built

between 1931-1936 and took 5 million

 barrels of cement to build.  Not only did the dam control flooding, it also created electricity for 14 million people in the southwest states.  Hoover Dam is known as one of the greatest engineer wonders of the country.
